On 9 an 10 March 2009, the International Girl Child Conference on violence against girls was held in the Kurhaus in The Hague.
The Girl Child Conference was organised by the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in cooperation with the Ministry for Youth and Families, the Ministry of Health, Welfare & Sport, the Ministry of Justice, and the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment, and the UNICEF Innocenti Research Centre.
